The HSE has confirmed that the Enable Ireland hydrotherapy pool in Cavan town will reopen next month.
Deputy Niamh Smyth said she had been advised that necessary repairs at the facility have now been carried out and the pool is currently being refilled with water.
She said the repairs required for the pool first came to light when she brought Minister for Disabilities, Anne Rabbitte to visit Enable Ireland last April.
The local TD pointed out that from then on, the focus was to get the amenity reopened. Deputy Smyth says Enable Ireland is currently recruiting for a pool attendant.
"Hopefully this will be expanded outside normal working hours and we can see groups using the pool outside of nine to five hours including at weekends. It's good news that the hydrotherapy pool is reopening in Cavan town," she concluded.
