Buildings across Ireland will be lit up in pink and blue to mark the occasion which falls at the end of Baby Loss Awareness Week.

The 'Wave of Light' initiative will be marked locally today to honour babies lost in pregnancy.

Families who have been bereaved by baby loss, stillbirth and neonatal death are asked to light a candle between the hours of 7pm and 8pm.

Buildings across Ireland will be lit up in pink and blue to mark the occasion which falls at the end of Baby Loss Awareness Week.

Locally in Carrickmacross, a vigil has been organised as part of the 'Wave of Light' initiative.

Locals are asked to gather at the Civic Offices and Library building between 7 pm and 7.30pm for a vigil in memory of all babies lost in pregnancy.
