An investigation has been launched following an assault that occurred in Monaghan.
Gardaí attended the scene of an assault on Park Street in Monaghan in the early hours of Sunday morning last.
A man aged in his late 30s was assaulted and was taken from the scene to Cavan General Hospital where he received treatment.

Gardai say investigations continue at this time and confirmed no arrests have been taken place.
