Two separate investigations are now underway into an attack on a teenager in Co Meath. The victim suffered apparent facial injuries in the incident in Navan this week which is now the subject of a garda investigation. Footage has been circulating online of what's been called a vicious and horrific attack.
Gardaí are investigating the incident which appears to have taken place near two schools, while the Louth Meath Education and Training Board is also investigating the incident, as some of those involved were wearing their school uniforms.
Officers are asking people to stop sharing footage of the attack online. Sinn Féin TD for Meath West, Johnny Guirke, says the display of violence is "unacceptable."
