Legislation to extend the deadline to form a devolved government in the North will be introduced to the House of Commons today. Northern Ireland Secretary Chris Heaton Harris wants to delay the deadline for negotiations to form a Stormont Executive until December 8th.
There will be the option to extend that deadline by a further six weeks, while MLA's will also see their pay slashed by around a third. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, said last week that he was "deeply committed" to the Belfast Good Friday Agreement.
"I want to see the institutions back up and running in Northern Ireland because that is what the people in Northern Ireland need and deserve," he added.
