The crime prevention officer for Cavan and Monaghan is encouraging locals to download the An Garda Síochána Property App.
Sergeant Joe Glackin says this free app has been developed by An Garda Síochána to allow you to record and index your property, the likes of bicycles, laptops, farm machinery etc.
He says the idea is to record the unique information associated with your property in a safe location.

Should your items be stolen, the app also provides a way of reporting this to Gardai.
Sgt Glackin says the App is being relaunched and is available for IPhone users and it will be available for android users soon.
He says it's a great app to have and in the event of a theft, adding that you will have the information at your fingertips.
