A Monaghan business woman has made her mark on the popular social media app TikTok. Helen Drumm who is the proprietor of Sound Quality in Monaghan Town, reached a following of 10,000 people in just three and a half weeks.
Speaking on this morning's Joe Finnegan Show, Helen revealed that her rise to fame on the app was "not planned" but that she loves entertaining her customers and "lifting the hearts of the people."
With followers from the age of four up until the age of 80, Helen added that her popular TikTok has helped business, with customers travelling from far and wide to catch a glimpse of the Monaghan woman and to see what her store has to offer.
"It's unbelievable," explained Helen. "Customers are coming from all over. Last Saturday we counted 14 counties where different customers came from who wanted to get photographs and buy products out of the shop. I'm overwhelmed by the whole thing.
"I think we need to go back to the old ways as shopkeepers, we need our customers more than they need us. I love to communicate with everyone and I always make sure to say hello, it's basic manners."
The popular Monaghan business woman always thanked her staff and family for their support. "I'm very lucky, I have great staff behind me who I wouldn't be without. My staff are wonderful and it's important to praise them and also my wonderful family.. If you haven't your family behind you, you have nothing. "
