Local concern raised over Leaving Cert Maths exam

Local Senator Robbie Gallagher has raised the issue in the Seanad yesterday.

A local Senator has written to the Minister for Education to highlight concerns raised in relation to the Leaving Cert maths.

As students continue to sit their junior and leaving examinations the Leaving Cert maths paper one exam on Friday attracted heavy criticism from many students who felt it was excessively difficult and unfair
.
While Monday's maths paper two exam was generally well-received where the opposite could be said about paper one.

Local Senator Robbie Gallagher has raised the issue in the Seanad yesterday, the chief whip said he has also sent a letter to Norma Foley in relation to this matter.

Senator Gallagher says he has received calls from students across the region highlighting their frustration over the exam.

The Monaghan Senator says he would have great sympathy for the leaving cert students of 2023 due to the fact they would not have sat their junior cert exam due to the Covid pandemic
