Counties in the border region, including Cavan and Monaghan saw an 8.1% growth in property prices in the year to December 2025.
That's according to figures released by the Central Statistics Office this week.
The regions outside of Dublin that saw the largest growth in house prices were the Midlands (Laois, Longford, Offaly, and Westmeath) at 14.4%.
Meanwhile, the West (Galway, Mayo, and Roscommon) saw a 6.4% rise in house prices, CSO figures revealed.
In both Cavan and Monaghan, the median house price was €255,000 in the year to December 2025.
Cavan Town's H12 eircode had a median house price of €250,000, while Monaghan Town's H18 eircode had a median price of €260,000.
Median house prices in the Carrickmacross area were €280,000, while median prices in Castleblayney in €250,000.
In Co. Cavan, median prices in Cootehill were €185,000, and €197,000 in Belturbet
