An immunology expert says the government should be aiming to get the whole country to level 1 Covid-19 restrictions by Christmas.

The National Public Health Emergency Team will meet tomorrow, to consider whether new measures are needed for some counties.

They're worried about Galway, Monaghan, Roscommon and Cork.

Another 363 cases were confirmed in the country yesterday, and one more death.

Meanwhile, a sharp increase in Covid-19 in Monaghan is down to young people socialising in Northern Ireland, according to a local GP.

Another 14 cases were recorded in the county yesterday, and it has the third highest incidence rate in the country.

Dr Illona Duffy says more restrictions in Monaghan are 'inevitable' if the current trend continues.

She says the recent increase has been among young people:
