The General Manager of a local hotel says the sector would prefer to remain closed until May, if it means "this is the last lockdown".

The General Manager of a local hotel says the sector would prefer to remain closed until May, if it means "this is the last lockdown".

Tony Walker is the General Manager of the Slieve Russel Hotel in Ballyconnell, and he added that hoteliers "have written off Easter".

Mr Walker also called for a clear roadmap out of the restrictions and says it's "unreasonable" for the government to allow uncertainty.

While Tony Walker was "disappointed" with Taoiseach Micheál Martin's comments that most of the restrictions will continue until Easter, he told The Joe Finnegan Show that he's hopeful of re-opening in mid-May:
