A group of local men from the region are cycling 642km from Malin to Mizen in aid of Cavan Monaghan palliative care.
Nine lads that include eight from Co Cavan and one from Longford began their challenge yesterday morning at 6am.
The cycle takes place from Malin Head to Mizen Head over the next four days covering over 640 kms. The guys have already amassed €12,000 through their go fund me page prior to traversing from the most northerly point to the most southerly point of the country.
Stephen Crowe who is a fireman from Ballyconnell along with eight other friends have taken on the challenge in an effort to give back to the local palliative care service.
The lads have almost 320kms cycled at the half way mark. Stephen outlines how the idea came about.
