Changes to the assessment of need process for children and families in Cavan is needed to tackle wait times.
That's according to local senator Joe O'Reilly who said new targeted reforms aimed at improving the Assessment of Need process for children and their families should reduce the waitlist.
The Fine Gael man said too many families have been waiting far too long for assessments and these reforms will help tackle the backlog.
Some of the new key measurements include new support teams, a single point of access system, and the autism assessment and intervention protocol.
Speaking to Northern Sound Senator O'Reilly spoke of the changes to the support teams.
