618 young children in Cavan have benefited from free book bag.
That's according to a local senator who praised the uptake of the My Little Library Initiative by children starting primary school.
The initiative includes books and resources in a book bag, which is available in both English and 'as Gaeilge', to supported parents and their children in Cavan in the transition to primary school.

It's offered for free in local libraries and allows children to sign up for a library membership.
Speaking to Northern Sound, Senator Joe O'Reilly said it's not too late if you haven't picked one up yet.
