A local TD hopes that lessons have been learned following an article published last week on the appearances of Fianna Fail members at their Think In.
Niamh Smyth was the first person highlighted in the Mail on Sunday article before a second article was published this week apologising for the publication.
Deputy Smyth says that many politicians believe that they have to take a certain amount of abuse because of their role, however, she feels her and her colleagues were right to call out this behaviour.

She told Shannonside northern Sound that she hopes there will now be change which will also filter into the online world and see social media become a safer place for politicians:
