Monaghan County Museum is now part of an ambitious new inclusivity plan for local museums.
The exciting vision for the future of Ireland's story was launched by the Local Authority Museum Network and Minister for Heritage and Electoral Reform, Malcolm Noonan, earlier this week.
Liam Bradley is the curator at Monaghan County Museum.
He says there are very exciting times ahead for the local facility.
He also confirmed that a new museum for the county is in the pipeline.
"We believe we have a unique opportunity here to build on experience," Mr Bradley added.
"We will do that through a number of elements.
"It will be a space that is conversational, where relationships are built and all while interacting with the collection that is there."
