A man has been charged in connection with the murder of Offaly school teacher Ashling Murphy.
Jozef Puska of Lynally Grove, Mucklagh Co Offaly was brought before a special sitting of Tullamore District Court this evening.
Judge Catherine Staines remanded Mr Puska in custody to appear again at Clover Hill District Court on the 26th of January.
Gardaí investigating the fatal assault on Ashling Murphy on Wednesday the 12th of January charged the man, aged in his 30s, prior to the court sitting.
A second male arrested under the provisions of Section 30 Offences Against the State Act 1939 has been released without charge from Garda custody.
A file in respect of that matter is currently being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).
