Man dies in Kildare crash as driver leaves scene

A man in his 20s has died in road crash in County Kildare.

However, the driver of the car he was travelling in failed to remain at the scene.

The crash, involving a car and truck, happened on the R403 in Celbridge at about 10 to 11 on Tuesday night.

The passenger of the car - a man in his 20s - died from his injuries.

The driver of the truck - a man in his 30s - was also injured.

However, Gardaí say the driver of the car left the scene.

They're appealing to anyone who was in the area at the time - especially those with dash-cam footage - to contact any garda station or the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111.
