Gardaí conducted a search under warrant of a property in the Scotshouse area of Co. Monaghan on Sunday afternoon last.
A number of cannabis plants were seized in the course of the search. A man in his 40s was arrested at the scene and detained at a Garda station in the North Western Region.
He has since been charged and appeared before yesterday morning. Local Gardai say investigations are continuing.

This most recent seizure is addition to 600,000 euro worth of drugs having been seized in Cavan and Monaghan over the past three weeks according to the Garda Chief Superintendent for the region.
