Man who died in Ironman event to be laid to rest in Meath

The funeral of one of the men who died in an Ironman in Cork will take place later this week. Brendan Wall, originally from Co Meath but living in the UK, died during the event in Youghal over the weekend.

He will be laid to rest after one o'clock mass at the Church of St Brigid in Grangegeeth in Meath on Thursday. Brendan is survived by his fiancé Tina, his parents, two brothers and sister.

The body of Ivan Chittenden from Canada, who also died during the event, has been released to his family.
