The Local Improvement Scheme is an 'important partnership between government and people living in rural Ireland.'
That's according to the Minister for Public Expenditure and Infrastructure, Jack Chambers, who was speaking at Áras an Chontae in Longford Town today.
The minister was speaking following the announcement of over €1.2 million for the upgrade of small roads and laneways across the Northern Sound region.
This includes €588,000 in Co. Monaghan and €662,000 in Co. Cavan.
