Monaghan has the lowest number of Ukrainian pupils attending schools in the country

54,700 Ukrainians have arrived in Ireland since the start of the conflict with Russia.

Monaghan has the lowest number of Ukrainian pupils with just 27 primary school kids and 18 in secondary schools.

Almost 12 thousand Ukrainian children enrolled in Irish schools last month.

Over 7,400 Ukrainian children are attending primary schools here while almost 4,400 are in secondary.

Elsewhere, Cavan has a significantly higher number of Ukrainian pupils with 193 in primary school and 84 in secondary schools.

Figures from the Department of Education also show that the majority of primary and secondary school pupils are in schools in Dublin, Kerry and Cork.

These figures come as CSO stats show over 54,700 Ukrainians have arrived in Ireland since the start of the conflict with Russia.
