The former KPMG managing director is the current ESB chairman, and previously served on the board of the Irish Times.

Co Monaghan native Terence O’Rourke is set to be named as the new chair of the RTÉ board. It comes as pressure is mounting once more on the Media Minister over the departure of the chair of the RTE board. Catherine Martin is being called on to answer questions in the Dail after Siun Ni Raghalliagh claimed her dismissal was 'enforced' by the Minister.

Its expected today that cabinet will approve the current ESB chair Terence O'Rourke as her successor. It's also understood his appointment has the support of all three coalition party leaders, Taoiseach Leo Varadkar, Tánaiste Micheál Martin, and Minister Eamon Ryan. Mr O’Rourke, who is originally from the local area, is a former KPMG managing partner and the current chairman of ESB.
