Mandy said that her husband had signed on at Monaghan Garda Station on February 2nd, 2022, as part of his ongoing application for Irish citizenship.

A Co Monaghan woman says she wants her children to know that she has never forgotten them and she hopes to be reunited with them very soon.

Mandy Kelly's two young children were abducted by their Egyptian father while on holiday in Cairo in March 2022. Zayn Mohamed, aged 5, and his three-year-old brother Kareem, were born in Ireland. However, during a visit to Egypt her husband locked Mandy in an apartment and took the children away in a car.

The mother of two has not seen or heard from her children since. Mandy said that her husband had signed on at Monaghan Garda Station on February 2nd, 2022, as part of his ongoing application for Irish citizenship and the idea that he didn't want to return to Ireland came very much out of the blue.

She said we were just like any normal young couple, working hard and trying to do our best for our two kids. The Monaghan native said not seeing or hearing from her two boys the last 630 plus days has been like worse than any possible nightmare could be.
