Aontu rep for Monaghan, Olivia Larkin was reacting to yet another decrease in Garda numbers in Monaghan.
New figures show a 6.7% drop between 2024 and 2025, with staffing levels falling from 178 to 166.
Ms. Larkin says the reduction comes despite ongoing concerns around crime and anti-social behaviour in areas like Carrickmacross.
She is calling on the Justice Minister to urgently address Garda resources in Monaghan and across the region.
