A Monaghan woman's sight was saved thanks to the quick reaction of a specsavers optometrist.
When Shaveline Mhlanga visited Specsavers Monaghan with headaches, ringing in her ears, and blurred vision, she had no idea that she was in danger of losing her vision.
Fortunately, Shaveline, from Monaghan, managed to get a quick referral and urgent medical support, after making the unscheduled visit to Specsavers.
Optometrist Graeme Compton who treated the Monaghan woman outlined to Northern Sound the importance of going for routine eye appointments.
He believes people "don't act" on changes with their eyesight quickly enough, which can lead to problems down the line.
