Monaghan’s Chief Fire Officer urges people to be vigilant following a fire in Castleblayney last night.

The blaze broke out at a derelict building in the Moraghy area after 9pm.

Two fire crews were deployed, one from Castleblayney and one from Ballybay and they managed to get the fire under control.

No – one was injured and the cause of the fire is unknown, however Chief Fire Officer for Monaghan, Dermot Brannigan has asked people to remain vigilant especially in the warm weather for any fire risks.
