The first stage of resurfacing works will take place from this Sunday.

Much needed works to resurface two roads in Cavan Town will take place next week. According to Cllr John Paul Feeley, The Cock Hill Road from Dunnes Stores to the Gaelscoil will be resurfaced linking into work completed last year.

Similarly, Keadue Lane from the junction of the Cathedral Road to where works completed last year will also be resurfaced. Cllr Feeley says the works have been scheduled to coincide with the Mid-Term Break adding that there is a huge volume of traffic on the Cock Hill going to and from St Claire's Primary School and the Gaelscoil. He thanked Paul Mulligan, the Area Engineer and his colleagues for timing the works to "minimise the inconvenience for road users."

The works on Cock Hill will commence on Sunday 29th October to be completed on the 31st October with the works on Keadue Lane will commence on Tuesday 31st October 2023 to Friday 3rd November and again from Monday 6th November to Wednesday 8th November 2023.

Local access will be facilitated to the greatest extent possible during the works. The budget for the work on the Cock Hill Road is approximately € 74,877 with a figure of € 198,000 for the Keadue Lane works.
