The Minister for Justice Helen McEntee has signed into law Cuan, the New Domestic, Sexual and Gender based agency.
Both the DSGBV sector and the Government have said the State needs to intensify and better integrate its response across all relevant areas, where violent acts are being committed.
The new agency will work collaboratively with the Non Government Organisations and DSGBV services to ensure the best possible services are in place to meet the needs of victims and survivors.
The Justice Minster said there will be zero tolerance of any violence.
