The new district court judge for Cavan and Monaghan began hearings this week.
Judge Raymond Finnegan was appointed to the role following the death of Judge Denis McLoughlin in September.
The Meath native had been appointed to Donegal in May of last year before being moved to this area.
His first sitting was on Tuesday with the Virginia District Court held in Cavan.
He then had his first Monaghan sitting on Wednesday, with Cavan District Court in session on Thursday.
