New survey gives 'encouraging' insights into lives of local teens

A new survey has given 'encouraging' insights into the lives of teenagers in Cavan and Monaghan.

Planet Youth is an Icelandic-based model of youth work that puts children's voices at the centre of decision making.

The plan was recently introduced in parts of Ireland and the results of the first survey for Cavan and Monaghan have been compiled.

It looks at all aspects of a young person's life, from substance use to relationships and education.

Caolan Faux, director of Youth Work Ireland Cavan-Monaghan, says people can look at the negatives of the report, but that there were some very positive responses.
