46 people in Cavan and Monaghan deemed medically unfit to drive are availing of the free travel pass. In Cavan 26 people are availing of the scheme, and 20 in Monaghan.
Last year, the free travel pass was extended to people who have never been medically fit to drive due to a disability, and drivers who have a license and have been deemed medically unfit to drive for a period of one year or longer.
As of the end of February, records indicate that there were 2,689 people availing of Free Travel for those medically unfit to drive.
