Gardai have renewed their appeal into a fatal Collison that occurred last Wednesday in Emyvale in County Monaghan.

Owen McKenna from Drumgeeny in Emyvale passed away from his injuries on Friday .

Gardaí have renewed their appeal for witnesses following a fatal road traffic collision that occurred on the N2 in Drumgeeny, Co. Monaghan on Wednesday evening last.

The collision, which involved a van and a pedestrian, occurred at approximately 6.55pm on the 26th of October.

Owen McKenna who was in his 90s was taken to Cavan General Hospital for treatment of serious injuries and later transferred to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda in a critical condition.

Mr.McKenna from Drumgeeny, Emyvale in Co.Monaghan passed away from his injuries on Friday.

A technical examination of the scene was completed by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators

Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to come forward.

Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and who were travelling on the N2 at Drumgeeny between 6:30pm and 7:15pm are asked to make this footage available to investigating Gardaí.]
