People across the Northern Sound region are being encouraged to send birthday cards to an Honorary Garda who will spend his birthday in hospital.
Leon Briody, from Cavan, will turn six on the 23rd of May, but will be spending his birthday in hospital having a bone marrow transplant.
Cavan gardaí say they want to let Leon and his family know they are thinking of them and have invited people to leave birthday wishes for Leon in Cavan Garda Station.

Cavan gardaí will arrange the delivery of the cards to Crumlin Children's Hospital for Leon's birthday.
People can send or leave in a card to Cavan Garda Station, for the attention of Leon's Garda Buddy, Garda Christine Gallagher.
Honorary Garda Leon has been described as "a true hero and warrior".
