The Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) scheme, which is part of the UK Borders Act is due to take effect from next year. This scheme requires all Non Irish EU and European Economic Area Citizens; also non British and non Irish from other countries to apply prior to travelling.
Border Communities Against Brexit is opposed to the measure. The organisation's Tom Murray says it will result in infrastructure along the border that will fly in the face of the Good Friday Agreement.
He says it will also have a negative impact for thousands of people living and working in the border region. "It means racial profiling; it means border infrastructures; it means security checks at the border; it means everything that we in BCAB have campaigned against over the last six years.
We have been Brussels, London, Washington and all over Ireland, and were assured time and time again by the British Government that there would be no border on this island. This is a disingenuous action and shows that the British Government is not acting in good faith," Mr Murray added.
