Gardai are renewing their appeal for information on the cold case murder of a Dublin mother of two. Antoinette Smith disappeared after a David Bowie concert in Slane 36 years ago.
The 27-year-old Antoinette Smith went to a David Bowie concert in Slane with her friend on this day in 1987. They returned by bus to Parnell Square in Dublin and went to the nightclub, La Mirage
There, they met two men they knew. The men later got a taxi towards the Ballymun area while Antoinette continued to walk towards O'Connell Street Bridge. She then vanished - her body wasn't found for another nine months at Glendoo Mountain close to Enniskerry.
Now 36 years later, Gardai are asking anyone who may have information to come forward. They say relationships may have changed with the passage of time and any information will be treated in a sensitive manner.
