The new Director General of RTÉ Kevin Bakhurst and other senior members are appearing before the Public Accounts Committee today. RTÉ must explain significant contradictions between the accounts given by it and those given by Ryan Tubridy and his agent Noel Kelly.
PAC members quizzed the former Late Late Show host and his agent for three hours on Tuesday. Brian Stanley, Chairman of the Public Accounts Committee, is calling on RTÉ to provide full disclosure of who knew what and when.
"I think that there are some serious issues arising from our meeting with Mr Tubridy and Mr Kelly. I think there are some serious questions, particularly around who knew what in RTE. The line that we were given up to now was that nobody only Dee Forbes knew about these extra payments. Dee Forbes signed off on it and nobody else was aware of this," he added.
