SIPTU calls for long-term investment plan over Navan A&E closure

SIPTU want a long-term investment plan to also be published as meetings with hospital bosses are expected to continue.

SIPTU says it wants GPs involved in the HSE's process to close Navan Hospital's A&E.

The union has also requested the terms of reference on a review into the operation of the facility in Meath.

The HSE wants to close the emergency department and replace it with a 24-hour GP-referred medical assessment unit, with emergencies going to Cavan, Drogheda or Blanchardstown.
