Lowest temperatures of -3 to 0 degrees is expected tonight.

There's a snow and ice warning for North West counties from tomorrow. Met Éireann has issued a status yellow warning for icy conditions in Connacht, Cavan and Monaghan, with rain turning from sleet to snow between 2am and 6pm tomorrow.

Meanwhile, the UK Met Office says a period of snowfall could bring some disruption on Thursday and into Friday morning in northern counties also. Tonight will see frost and ice setting in for a time tonight under clear skies. Overall dry and clear, though some to sleet and snow I possible in parts towards morning, mainly further south. Lowest temperatures of -3 to 0 degrees in a light to moderate easterly wind, freshening later.

Thursday will begin cloudy and breezy with wintry outbreaks of rain, sleet and snow moving up across the region. Moderate accumulations are likely. Wintry outbreaks will persist for the day. Very cold with an added wind chill factor owing to a biting easterly winds. Highest temperatures of 2 to 4 degrees. The same band of icy conditions will affect Donegal from 11am until 8pm. Hazardous travelling conditions, travel disruption and poor visibility can be expected.
