'A dedicated walk and cycle path along the link road is being developed'

A temporary one-way system on the Link Road between Canal Street/Mall Road and Macartan Road - the N54-10 - in Monaghan Town has been initiated for four weeks.

The purpose of the trial - which is in conjunction with Monaghan County Council Active Travel Department and Monaghan Municipal District - is to provide a dedicated walk and cycle path along the link road.

This will allow for uninterrupted travel along the Ulster Canal Greenway from the Linear park onto Canal Street. The local authority will utilise one lane of the roadway from Sunday the 30th of October to Sunday the 27th of November 2022 24 hours per day seven days per week.
