A status yellow thunderstorm warning is now in place across the Northern Sound region.
Met Éireann issued the warning for Donegal, Cavan, Monaghan, Tipperary, Clare, parts of Leinster and all of Connacht.
Meanwhile the entire country remains under a yellow high temperature advisory.
