Tributes paid to man killed in Castleblayney crash

Gardaí, fire service and paramedics responded.

Tributes have been paid to Fionán Callan, who died in a crash in Castleblayney yesterday.

He received serious injuries in the two vehicle collision at the junction of the Castleblayney bypass and the Ballybay road.

He was taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda where he was pronounced dead later.

Keenan Stainless, where Fionán worked has said the company was "deeply saddened" by his death.

In a post on social media the company said he "was a great guy on our team, who will be missed dearly".

He's survived by his parents and brothers and sisters. His funeral will take place in Broomfield on Friday morning.
