Troubles Legacy Bill 'in breach' of human rights

Despite today's court ruling, the British Government says it is still committed to the new law. 

The High Court in Belfast has ruled part of the UK Government's Troubles legacy law is NOT compatible with human rights legislation. It follows a legal challenge brought forward by families of victims of the Northern Ireland conflict. The controversial act includes provisions for conditional amnesties - which the court says won't help with reconciliation. Northern Ireland's Secretary of State, Chris Heaton Harris, says the British Government is still committed to the new law.
