Ukraine says 'war crimes' committed in Bucha

'17,800 Ukrainian refugees have arrived in Ireland'

There's been international condemnation after the withdrawal of some Russian troops revealed what Ukrainian officials have called war crimes.

Images from the town of Bucha which was controlled by Russians for around a month, show bodies in the streets in mass graves and in the basements of buildings, some with hands tied behind their backs.

Moscow denies its soldiers were responsible saying the images are a "staged performance".

Nataliya’s described what she said to Russian troops who entered her building in the town.

"He told me to leave the basement," she added.

"I said no; I said if you have to shoot, shoot me first.

"Then they started running around the building like cockroaches."

Meanwhile, 17,800 Ukrainian refugees have arrived in Ireland so far, and just over 10,000 are being accommodated by the state.

That's according to the Children's Minister - who says the process of moving people into accommodation pledged by Irish people is underway.

Roderic O'Gorman has confirmed there's a contingency plan in place, which is likely to be needed if numbers keep growing.
