A Cavan journalist believes its crucial that survivors of sexual abuse in schools have their voices heard.
Earlier this week, Minister for Education Helen McEntee announced the establishment of a commission of investigation into sexual abuse allegations in every school in Ireland. Work is underway to establish how a redress scheme for survivors would work. However the commission does not have the remit to investigate physical abuse in schools.
Head of Editorial Development at the Irish Examiner, Sheila Reilly, says it's important that survivors get their voices heard in this investigation.
