Refurbishment works and an extension to Colaiste Dun an Ri in Kingscourt have been given the green light by the Department of Education.
Minister for Education & Skills Norma Foley made the announcement yesterday evening.
Fianna Fail TD for Cavan and Monaghan, Deputy Niamh Smyth has congratulated principal Fergal Boyle for the strides that have been taken at the school.

She said the school has seen its population increase year on year.
These latest developments for the school, she added, are testament to that.
"It is great news from Minister Norma Foley that refurbishment works at the College have been ratified," she added.

"We know that all of this is part of a much bigger extension at the college."
