Local councillor highlights issue of safety signage at Cavan lakes. A local councillor has called on Cavan County Council to consider the possibility of erecting safety signage at lakes.
Moreover, Fine Gael Councillor TP O'Reilly raised these concerns around water safety at a previous meeting of Cavan County Council.
Speaking to Northern Sound, TP O'Reilly said that he is aware temporary signage is sometimes put up in certain lakes during peak times. However, a more permanent solution is needed.
Currently there are no designated swimming areas in Cavan. Thus, signage would make people aware of the dangers associated with certain lakes.
Cllr. O'Reilly spoke with Sorcha Burke about this issue.
