A local man has highlighted his personal struggles in an effort to help others across the region.
Monaghan man, Christopher Redhead is now almost 9 years sober following a very unhealthy relationship with alcohol.
Life hit rock bottom for the now 34 year old, when he was in his early 20s were he found himself tired of his daily alcohol struggles.
Christopher turned to drink when he was 18 years of age after his father passed away. By the age of 21 he says his level of drinking got out of hand and he ended up being homeless.
The young man found himself addicted living in derelict buildings in Monaghan Town.
The turning point came when attempted to die by suicide. He then got the help he desperately needed and life has never been as good for the Monaghan man.
