One or more individuals were involved in the death of Kelly Lynch due to the severity of the injuries that she sustained.
That's according to an independent pathologist, Dr Fintan Garavan who says the Lynch family have been failed by the system.
He says in his experienced opinion the injuries to Kelly's body suggests there were at least one or even more individuals present at the time of the 23-year-olds death. Dr Garavan says it's possible that Kelly was a victim of a violent assault, contradicting official findings that she died by drowning.
The US based pathologist was engaged by The Katie Trust charity to review post-mortem reports into Ms Lynch's death. He said the number and distribution of injuries on Ms Lynch's body were in his view, consistent with a violent assault.
Dr Garavan joined Ronan Gargan on today's show.
