The Dublin International Film Festival (DIFF) Discovery Awards are a key Irish film industry accolade for emerging talent; covering directing, writing, performance, and cinematography.
Moreover, the talented director was filming in Morocco for the last two months; for a Netflix TV series when the call came through about her nomination.
Indeed, Taine said it was important for her to make use of the local landscape for this special project; adding that in her opinion "Co Monaghan is the Killarney of the North."
Furthermore, the film was shot in the Lough Muckno area; which she says fed into the story as this is a historic place where she walked around when she was younger.
The short film set in Co Monaghan will also feature at the Dublin Film Festival this year.
